Twist and Shout
Featured on the cover are some of the students from St. Edmond High school, who are busy rehearsing for their spring musical, Once on this Island,which will be held the last weekend of March. Different from anything St. Edmond has done, it offers a bit of the fanciful and mystical. The story centers around a star-crossed‚ love and takes place on a Caribbean island. Both directors say this will be a show filled with great music and lots of talent. Make plans now to attend.



The annual Karl King St. Patrick’s Day concert will be held on March 14th at Decker Auditorium. Songs courtesy of composers such as George m. Cohen promise to put you in the Irish‚ mood for sure. The concert will begin at 3:30, dig out your green and make it a date!



Also on March 14th is a concert held by Fort Dodge native Fr. David Hemann, at 7 pm at Corpus Christi church. Fr. Hemann says it best, My concerts are prayers- whoever sings, prays twice,‚ says St. Augustine. Sounds like two great music opportunities on Sunday, the 14th.



Iowa Central Community College has a lot going on this month. The weekend of March 25th features Curtain Call at Decker auditorium. Enjoy the Dance team as they showcase their talent. Coming on March 30th is something new for the college; An Evening of Improve which is a student produced freestyle night of comedy and music, similarly to the former lip sync contests of old. Mark your calendars for these two fun events.



The Humane Society is gearing up for their second annual Fur Ball which will be held Saturday, March 27th. Twist & Shout attended last year’s event and a fabulous time was had by all. There will be wonderful prizes, great auction items and an update on the building plans. Whether you’re a cat lover or a dog lover- we- Ruby and her cousin Vinny- hope you can be part of helping our furry friends find a new home.



Webster County Is All In. This is a phrase we’re going to be hearing a lot of in the next few weeks, as Fort Dodge area residents learn about the possibility of a Casino coming to town. Proponents explain the many advantages in a story inside featuring an interview with Fort Dodge resident Mark Crimmins. He shares how it’s important for all of us to show our excitement- and do our best to attend an April 7th rally‚ to be held at the proposed site. Read more inside.
