Happy New Year!

Featured on our cover this month is John Mueller and company who will be coming to Fort Dodge’s own Laramar Ballroom on Sunday January 17th. He’s bringing his legendary Winter Dance Party‚ in order to re-create the wonderful Buddy Holly‚ event of 51 years ago. Along with Mueller will be Jay P. Richardson and Ray Anthony who re-create the Big Bopper- and Ritchie Valens in an almost perfect rendition of their infamous music. This “Party” is the official live and authentic recreation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Boppers‚ final tour and the only show endorsed by the families of the late stars. Get your tickets!- it will be your best night in January- for sure!

Read inside the interview with Monsignor Kevin McCoy as he tells about the great plans for St. Edmond’s upcoming Catholic Schools week. There are events almost daily- culminating in a Mass celebrated by the Dioceses‚ Bishop R. Walker Nickless. It’s open to all- so make plans now to attend.

At this time of year, it’s fun to look back over the past year, and think about all the good things that we’ve experienced. Columnist Julie Thorson does a great job of sharing her thoughts- I think you’ll be able to identify with a lot of them.

The Hospice Ball will be held the first weekend of February- on February 6th. Organizers are busy getting ready for the annual event which is always a great time. Read more inside.

We encourage you to visit one of our advertisers to pick up our fabulous 2010 Historic Photo Calendar. The pictures are truly one of a kind- and will be the perfect way to remember Fort Dodge throughout the year. If you can’t find one- feel free to give us a call- and for $6 we will send you one or two- ! Whatever you need.

Ruby and I are doing some 'reading' out in the snow!

Happy New Year from all of us at Twist & Shout
