Featured on the cover are different views‚ of Fort Dodge’s annual Fall Fest celebration, which will be held on Saturday, September 19th. Fall Fest will offer something for everyone, from the brand new‚ photography contest to the well-known entertainment -filled stage, the “Cruize-in” car show and the new Kids‚ parade. Bring everyone down to this fun-filled day. What a great way to enjoy Fall in Fort Dodge! This month’s Acts of Kindness‚ by Katie Averill tells the moving story of the Larson family and their experience with loosing son Coleman to cancer. Averill says in her column, “Team Larson, along with thousands of caring friends, have been performing acts of kindness in Coleman’s spirit and memory” This will be a column you‚ll want to clip out and save. Twist & Shout is very excited to welcome back‚ Columnist Julie Thorson. Julie wrote many great columns a few years ago, and now is back- and better than ever! She has both children in school now- and shares what it’s like to “let them go”‚ Glad to have you back Julie! Please clip out the volleyball and football schedules in this issue to save and refer to when you’re making your sports‚ plans. They’ll come in handy! Mark your calendars for the annual Apple Fest the first weekend in October. As usual, the Orchard will offer games, rides to the pumpkin patch, and delicious apple treats for everyone! Joining up with the Orchard in celebrating‚ is the noon Rotary group- with a new Apple Fest Run. Head over to St. Edmond school on Sunday, October 4th and join in on the 5K or 10K run or walk. Raising money for polio- Rotary also encourages participants to get in shape for a good cause. Read more inside.
